Welcome

Hello and welcome to all new and returning geoscientists!
This year Geolsoc are hoping to have their best year yet! We are going to be having fortnightly socials including the ever popular cheese and wine evening, Christmas party and three legged pub crawl.

Throughout the year we will also be putting on fieldtrips, such as fossil hunting in the Pentlands, and a lecture series which will be held in the James Hutton Lecture Theatre (room 201) in the Grant Institute. Also keep an eye out for information about this year’s annual Spring Ball!

We will be continuing to run and develop the parenting scheme for first year Geoscience students to help welcome them to the School of Geosciences and give them advice and supported where needed.

All events will be advertised on this website, our facebook page and through emails so you always know what is happening. Please contact us with any questions or suggestions on geology@sms.ed.ac.uk.
